When writing a paper or doing any type of research, it is important to give credit to all of the sources and authors who presented the information you are choosing to use. If you are caught writing a paper and not providing the website, publisher, or author of the work being used in your own paper, this is considered to be a case of plagiarism. Plagiarism, although not being an illegal activity, is one way for an author to lose his or her credibility in his or her own line of work and may not be capable of having a future job. Students who have plagiarized in their papers face serious consequences, like expulsion.
